Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company (with popular Queens outposts along Broadway and 30th Ave near Long Island City/Astoria) is widely considered one of the top authentic New York bagel shops in the city. Famous for their massive, hand-rolled, kettle-boiled, and baked-fresh bagels, they feature an extraordinary selection of inventive house-made cream cheeses (like Bacon Scallion, Honey Bacon Sriracha, and rotating seasonal flavors). Beyond standard breakfast sandwiches, they offer specialty lox platters, cold brew, and espresso drinks. Lines move remarkably fast despite long morning crowds.

I’m reposting this because my previous review was removed. And I will do it again. I have been a customer of Brooklyn Bagel for 10 years. I order online almost every week, bring family and friends here, and have consistently recommended their bagels. Unfortunately, my in-person experience was extremely disappointing. Both employees taking orders were rude and dismissive. I had to repeat my order several times, and it was still made incorrectly. At one point, one of them even told me to “relax.” because they can't seem to figure out how to put the order in their system. After a decade of loyalty and support, this is not the level of customer service I expected. Brooklyn Bagel has lost a longtime customer. To the Management - I'm happy to show you my 10 year receipts. I'm not just an annoying reviewer.

I’ve been ordering from this Brooklyn Bagel location for almost every week over the past 10 years, mostly through online delivery. I’ve always loved the food and considered it one of the best bagel shops in NYC. Today, while I was out running errands, I finally had the chance to order in person. Unfortunately, the experience was shocking. The man taking orders was rude, dismissive, and seemed unsure of what he was doing. Another employee stepped in, but instead of improving the situation, he was even ruder and actually raised his voice at me. The food is still excellent, but the customer service completely ruined the experience. After being a loyal customer for a decade, I never expected to be treated this way. Respect and professionalism matter just as much as great food. If management would like to discuss what happened, I’m happy to do so. I can show them all my online receipt as well for the past te years to show them how much I love this place. Otherwise, this experience has convinced me that I won’t be ordering from this location again. Great food can bring customers in, but poor treatment is what drives them away.

I love the bagels here, they’re super dense and the cream cheese is nice and thick. This is my go-to NYC bagel restaurant. They also have the make your own bagel sandwich which I frequently take advantage of.

This is a popular local bagel shop located along Broadway in Astoria. They offer a wide variety of bagels, flavored cream cheeses, and drinks like coffee, perfect for breakfast or brunch. You can dine in or take out. The bagels are large and filling, and they’re always generous with the cream cheese! Here are my two favorites: 1) Multigrain bagel with smoked salmon, avocado, and cream cheese. It’s hearty, flavorful, and feels healthy. 2) Blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Slightly sweet and simple. If you’re in Astoria, this spot is definitely worth checking out!
